Move over, Horatio Magellan Crunch — that's Cap'n Crunch's real name, if you didn't know — because you surely know the name of the new sheriff in town that's ready to crunchatize the Cleveland Browns fan base.
A press release on Tuesday announced that Browns star running back Nick Chubb is launching his own cereal in partnership with PLB Sports & Entertainment, and it's called Chubb Crunch. Hitting the shelves in Fall 2021, Chubb Crunch will be available online at PLBSE.com as well as in Heinen's grocery stores around Cleveland.
Chubb says that he's excited about the release, adding that it's "always been a dream" to have his own cereal and that it's even more special because it will benefit a foundation that hits close to home. A portion of all proceeds will go to First Candle, an organization working to end Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and provide support to families who have been victims. He'll join athletes like Patrick Mahomes (Mahomes Magic Crunch) and Josh Allen (Josh Jaq's) in partnering with PLBSE to create a cereal.
"Nick's amazing abilities on the field are matched by his community focused efforts off of it," said Troy Witt, Director of Marketing and Partnerships for PLBSE. "Nick is exactly the type of player and person we strive to work with.
I don't know what the flavor is going to be, but if it's anything that helps me to, I don't know, record 29 repetitions of the 225-pound bench press and run a 4.52-second 40-yard dash, then I'm game. Wheaties may be the Breakfast of Champions. But Chubb Crunch is the Breakfast of 5.2 career yards per carry, Pro Football Focus No. 1 rankings, and jaw-dropping bruising runs regardless of the opposition.
What's next? CheeriOBJs? Kareem of Wheat Hot Cereal? Andrew Boo Berry?
