Red Sox Acquire Andrew Cashner from Orioles

(WEEI) -- The Red Sox made a move on Saturday to address their starting rotation by acquiring right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner from the Orioles.

In his 17 starts this season, Cashner has struck out 66 hitters and walked 29 while posting a 3.83 ERA. He has a mid-90s fastball and his primary off-speed pitch is his changeup.

In exchange, the Orioles received minor leaguers Noelberth Romero and Elio Prado. Both 17-year-olds were members of the organization's Rookie-level Dominican Summer League team. Romero is an infielder who's mostly played third this year. Prado is an outfielder and has mainly played center.

The Red Sox also received cash considerations in the trade.
