The conversation around the Jacksonville Jaguars this week has been about anything but football and mostly on Urban Meyer.
The head coach has spent much of the early portion of this week apologizing — publicly and privately — after a video showed him getting a little too comfortable with a young woman at an Ohio bar.
Meyer addressed the team again on Wednesday — in positional groups — and, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, told Jaguars players he acted like “a a—hole idiot.”
“Our Aditi Kinkhabwala tweeted out that Meyer told the players that he’s got two basically groups of people that he loves: his family and his team, and that he embarrassed both of them,” Garafolo said. “I am also told, that he told the players that he acted like a ‘bleephole idiot’ which is kinda redundant and not grammatically correct, but I think he did it to make a point here.”
Meyer’s credibility and standing with the players appears to be waning while owner Shahid Khan also condemned the head coach on Tuesday. Questions remain on how much longer Meyer will remain with the team, which is 0-4 and heads into another tough matchup with the Tennessee Titans this week.
The 57-year-old told reporters on Wednesday he has no intention to resign as head coach of the Jaguars.

“I had at least three or four conversations with Shad,” he said. “The message is loud and clear, and I agree with [it]. Also met witht eh team on Monday, individually, and then today [as a group]. Had a very pointed conversation with them, owning a stupid mistake that I made.
“A job of a coach is … No. 1, health and safety of a player. No. 2, is motivate them or bring out the greatness in them. And No. 3 is give them everything possible to be successful and give them a great locker room and then get the heck out of the way. And I apologize for a distraction with a huge week coming up, especially after they made so much improvement from Week 1 to Week 4.”
