Was Rangers OF Joey Gallo robbed in the Home Run Derby?

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Rangers All-Star outfielder Joey Gallo got off to a rough start in his first-ever Home Run Derby, but he came roaring back in the final seconds to tie Colorado Rockies shortstop (Irving native and future Rangers teammate?) Trevor Story with 20 home runs.

Or so we thought...

Upon replay review, the ball was still in Tony Beasley's hand (Rangers third base coach) when the buzzer sounded, and Gallo's 20th blast into the right-field seats of Coors Field was deemed too late.

However, rewind a few minutes to the ending of Story's round, and you'll see the buzzer sounded before the ball left Rockies bench coach Mike Redmond's hand on his final home run.

Was Gallo hosed? Rangers catcher Jose Trevino sure thinks so and wanted to throw the challenge flag.

Regardless, it was exciting to see Gallo get his due and be seen on the big stage. Maybe he can bring home the All-Star Game MVP and all will be well.
