"'Selfish' is actually the first song I wrote for this entire album," Arison shares with Emily West. "It's actually based on, used to be one of my best friends, and this friend one day just came at me and just yelled at me for like two hours, saying, I never call him, I never come by his house, and just all these crazy things that in the moment, I was like, 'I did call you, I did come by your house.' I was just denying everything, and I had some few days to calm down and reflect, and a few days later I was like, 'hmm, you know what, maybe you're right, maybe I am selfish. Maybe I didn't call you.' It was a moment of self-discovery."
