Calling them out by name on national television is one way to get a celebrity’s attention.

Second chance “Jeopardy!” contestant Brendan Sargent had a personal ask of former guest host Katie Couric (she appeared in Sargent’s first game in season 37) and she eventually responded!

As Sargent was being interviewed during his second appearance, he talked about his first go ‘round on the game show and his current request of Couric.

“I was lucky enough to have Katie Couric as host and she was really nice, I couldn’t ask for anything better,” he told current full-time host Ken Jennings. “But, she took a selfie of the three contestants on stage and I told everyone in my life about it and… I never saw the selfie. So I am using this platform to urge Katie Couric to please release the selfie so people know it exists.”

Couric heard his request and made it so, posting the selfie on her own Instagram.

“Ask and ye shall receive. Glad I didn’t delete it!” Couric captioned the post.

Sargent was one of Couric’s first followers to comment on the image, writing, “Oh my GOD, I can’t believe this! Thank you so much!”

While Sargent got his wish rewarded by Couric, he didn’t have as great a time competing on the show. He came in second place during his second chance.
