In a brand event for Hailey’s skincare line Rhode and its recent Krispy Kreme collaboration, she and her husband Justin visited the chain in New York City. The “donut glaze” and “strawberry” themes were prevalent throughout the whole product release event, with Hailey dressed in a glamorous, muted summer red minidress, heels, and matching strawberry earrings. Justin’s outfit was, well, on-brand for him at least. Known for being extra casual, he wore a gray sweatshirt with matching shorts, Crocs with socks, and a hat on top of his hoodie, which was tied shut. And while this is quite typical for the couple, the extreme difference between them soon sent the internet into a frenzy.
“My favorite little game to play whenever I see pictures of Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber out is to try to guess where the f*** they were going,” TikTok-er Kate Barlett narrates over footage of the couple. “Because nine times out of 10, they are never dressed for the same event.” Her take on their latest outing quickly gained massive support and commentary, with the TikTok gaining over 5.4m views and thousands of comments adding their own jokes. And, as it tends to, Twitter jumped on the topic too. “he’s always dressed like he’s about to go help his mom bring in groceries from the car” one user writes, with the most popular post on the subject saying, “id be so angry if i was giving the girls my best look of the year and here come my husband.”
Others actually appreciate the difference, saying that even though they’re celebrities, they’re still just a normal couple that doesn’t match outfits. “I love how Hailey never seems bothered about it tho like she just lets him be himself & doesn’t try to dress him the way people think he should be,” one TikTok comment pointed out. Another fan on Twitter wrote, “he clearly doesn’t want the attention on him. he wants her to stand out for her OWN event while he just shows up to show her love from the sidelines and I honestly love that.”
Granted, to give the Biebers some credit, it’s hard to define a dress code for a brand press event when it’s also hosted at a donut shop chain store. Besides, many couples know the difficulty in coordinating plans, let alone clothing. Celebrities, they’re just like us! Well, other than sending the entire internet into a meltdown that is…
