While discussing the meaning behind some of the signature tanks she wore throughout her tour, including one that read “Dump Him” — which Rodrigo said is a “classic homage to Miss Britney Spears” — Olivia went on to reveal the question she asks on first dates, that depending on the answer, serves to determine if there will be second one.
“This is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates,” Rodrigo revealed during a recent Netflix promo for her documentary Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour. “I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space.” Adding, “and if they say yes, I don’t date them.”
Olivia, who is currently dating actor Louis Partridge, went on to explain her reasoning, noting with a chuckle, “I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird.”
Reposted by many, the clip made its way to Grimes’ phone screen, and not only did she wholeheartedly agreed, commenting “it’s true,” but she also added an original thought, “only women should be going to space.”
IYKYK, Grimes’ baby-daddy and on and off ex is none other than SpaceX, pro-space travel champion Elon Musk. The "man who wants to go to space" to end all "men who want to go to space.” So whether or not you agree with Grimes' approval of Rodrigo’s premise… she’d definitely be the one to know.
Anyway… elsewhere during her chat with Netflix, Olivia shared her love for Sex and the City, calling it one of her favorite shows, and sharing she is firmly Team Aidan. “Mr. Big sucks,” she said, of the character who served as Carrie’s main love interest in the show. “But we’ve all dated guys like that. You can’t let them go. But yeah, Aidan for the win.”
