P.J. Clarke's is a bar and restaurant, serving "fresh food, frosty drinks and good, old-fashioned conversation" since 1884. They currently have five locations, including Third Avenue, Lincoln Square, and On the Hudson in New York City, one in Washington D.C., and the one we're featuring today, At The Curtis on Walnut St., right here in Philadelphia, PA.
They've got a lot of history, too, seeing they've been around for over 136 years. Get this - not only did Buddy Holly propose inside their restaurant to a woman he had only known for five hours, but Nat King Cole shortly after said that their famous bacon cheeseburger is "The Cadillac of burgers!"
