Located at 112 8th St in Philadelphia, Crafstman Row Saloon is best known for their famous Christmas pop-up for the holidays - floor to ceiling, wall to wall, with hundreds of lights, oraments, decorations and over-the-top holiday shakes.
Featured in today's episode is Craftsman Row Saloon's Donut Fried Chicken and Christmas Dinner Burger, along with Opa Pop-up at Drury's Souvlaki Platter and Lamb Chops.
Brother-and-sister restaurateurs George and Vasiliki Tsiouris will present a special Opa Pop-up at Drury Beer Garden, located at 1311 Sansom Street, starting this week through the end of the year, with the possibility of extending it! The beloved Greek cuisine and cocktails that earned Opa top honors as one of the best new Greek restaurants in America by Details Magazine are back just in time for the fall, sweater weather and the holidays. This seemed the perfect time as folks have been asking for the menu. The menu brings back great, positive memories for people, and George felt that was important after everyone's struggles with the pandemic, The holidays are a big time for families, and why not bring back these family recipes!
Drury Beer Garden will continue to offer its own menu items, but Opa will be a whole separate and VERY large pop-up menu - and with it comes Opa inspired drinks to pair with them. For Opa lovers and foodies, this is a very special experience and will be big news. For those that never had the chance to experience the city’s best Greek cuisine, this will be a new surprise for them!
Opa opened in Feb 2011. Behind it, Drury Beer Garden opened as a complement in July, 2012.
Before the pandemic, Opa was on the verge of actually expanding! When the pandemic hit, they decided to pivot,change their model, and bring the beer garden brand inside and throughout - especially as things were more oriented to outside, the streetery got added, and people were using the beer garden in the back. Now moving forward, they want to bring the beloved menu back!
