PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There’s a new way to beat the heat this summer.

Bucks County-based Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company announced a new line of beers inspired by Rita’s Italian Ice, aptly called Rita’s Fruit Brews.

The Rita’s Fruit Brews Mango Blonde Ale (5% ABV) is a seasonal craft beer inspired by Rita’s most popular ice flavor.

It will be available starting April 15 at Neshaminy Creek’s taprooms as well as retailers across the region. The beer will not be available a Rita’s Italian Ice stores.

The companies say the beer gives off a “nostalgic aroma and big fruity flavor transporting you back to waiting under the signature candy-striped awning for an icy sweet treat.”

“The idea originated during the height of the pandemic,” said Kyle Park, Neshaminy Creek director of sales and marketing, “when taking my kids to Rita’s was one of the few escapes from the monotony of working from home. The brand continues to be such a big part of our summer memories, creating a line of beers inspired by them felt like a no-brainer.”

The 12-ounce cans are sold in six-packs while supplies last.
