Ree Drummond is opening up about how she recently lost nearly 40 pounds.
As many of us have seen our diet and fitness routines get upended by the pandemic, the “Pioneer Woman” star admitted to the same fate in a recent post on social media.
"I can't get away from food and I love to eat,” Drummond said in a video, according to Page Six. “Of course it crept up on me through the years, especially during COVID."
The 52-year-old took action and pulled it together if the clips she posted are any indication. Drummond showed off her recently trimmed-down body after dropping an impressive 38 pounds since January.
"No gimmicks at all,” Drummond added. “I just cut calories, exercised more, lifted a lot of weights. I look better but I feel so much better, and that's what really counts."
She elaborated on her diet during an interview with Today.
“I didn’t do anything like keto or intermittent fasting," Drummond said "Those things work for people, but I knew I just had to tackle it scientifically: calories in, calories out. So I just started paying attention to what I was eating and the calories of what I was eating. I still ate the same things. I just really tried to eat smaller quantities."
The inspiration of her story is compounded by the fact that Drummond has taken on her battle of the bulge during an already extremely tumultuous time in her life.
In March, she had to deal with the terrible firetruck crash of her husband Ladd and nephew Caleb. Then Caleb was arrested on a DUI just a few weeks later in April.
Nicer news came along in early May, as Drummond’s eldest child, Alex, got married, which involved the Food Network star creating the menu for the event.
