The trio we simply can’t get enough of, SZA, Keke Palmer and Issa Rae, made their latest One of Them Days press tour appearance on a brand new episode of Hot Ones Versus where the ladies had two choices — answer the question, or eat a “death” wing.

Sat and served with downsized gauntlets of just 5 wings each, SZA, Keke and Issa played a spicy game of “truth or dare,” filled with playful banter and hot a** wings.
Starting off with Issa forgoing a wing to — kind of — give SZA three pieces of advice that could improve her acting, next the trio had to pick which out the three would get fired first from a restaurant job. Before anyone even said a word, SZA blurted, “Ok I think it’s f***ed up that y’all think its me,” Keke and Issa burst out laughing. “Cause I’m literally gonna make sure its you,” SZA said, pointing to Palmer. And after a bit of light-hearted repartee, it was settled, it would most definitely be SZA.
Having had avoided the Wings of Death until now, it was once again Issa’s turn to inquire, asking SZA to rank three of her past collaborators — Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna — from most to least talented.
“1,2,3, who’s three?,” Keke said, leading Issa to LOL. After asserting that “they’re all equally talented,” SZA submitted, taking a bite out of one of the super spicy wings. “This is incredibly hot, wow, why is it so hot?,” she said, jumping up and running around the room. After sitting back down, production assistants quickly surrounded her with fans.
Acknowledging the wing had SZA really “going through it,” Issa couldn’t help herself to jest, “all you had to say was Justin Bieber, and you woulda been,” not even finishing the sentence as the entire set responded with laughter.
And that was just round one.
From there the questions escalated and the heat intensified. Starting off round two, SZA asked Issa to rank Insecure guest stars, so obvi Rae had her first wing. Validating SZA’s struggles, Issa expressed, “no, that’s hot, I get it.” SZA then turned to Keke, whom she referred to as “the master of impressions,” asking her to spin the wheel and impersonate whoever she landed on. After attempting Will Smith and Issa Rae, Palmer wasn’t satisfied with her performances and also resigned to bite her first wing.
Things got hella spicy in Round 3, with Issa asking SZA to put her Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar “in jeopardy by saying three mean things about the reigning ‘King of Rap.’” Then, picking up a dealer’s choice question card, Keke could ask the other players whatever question she wanted. So of course, Keke did as Keke does — the most.
After first asking Issa if she’d be down to be with a man if he had a child outside of their relationship—like her character did in the show’s final season, the real kicker came when she straight up asked SZA, “Is Drake a good kisser?”
SZA, trembling from the heat of previous eaten wings, shot back, “That’s why I said, ‘F*** you in advance,’” dodging the question with humor. SZA’s avoidance to answer only fueled Palmer and Rae’s persistence. “She’s not gonna answer,” Palmer declared, to which Rae teased, “She already did.” Palmer joked, “He must have been terrible!” before pressing again, “Was he a good kisser?”
“I like you,” Issa said in between giggles, pointing at Keke, who was also in a fit of maniacal laughter. Refusing to respond, SZA nibbled on a wing.
“We were children, 2009? We were children,” SZA said in her defense. Rae, quick to stir the pot, responded, “That was the sound of lies.” SZA clarified, “2009—we were children, real s***.” Not ready to let it go, Palmer insisted, “It’s a simple good or not good,” and Rae, ever the instigator, added, “The fact that you won’t say is very telling.”
The rest of the segment went on pretty much the same, as the trio continued to showcase their their undeniable chemistry with top-tier teasing and dramatic reactions, all done in good fun of course.
