Taylor Swift is so ubiquitous in the current pop culture sphere that even the most recent episode of Jeopardy! dedicated a full round to the 12x GRAMMY winner.

Contestants competing on the show selected between categories, such as “Love Story,” “Our Song,” “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “The Errors Tour.” Five out of the six aforementioned categories are all Swift songs, and “The Errors Tour” is a nod to Swift’s ongoing world tour titled The Eras Tour, which will be making its way to Japan in February.
Despite the category names, contestants didn’t need to be Swifties to be successful in this round of Jeopardy! The questions within each category were not related to the musician at all. For example, “The Errors Tour” category featured a question about HGTV’s “25 Biggest Renovating Mistakes.”
While Swift's knowledge wasn’t needed for this round, it’s never a bad idea to brush up on the renowned artist’s career before appearing on Jeopardy! In 2022, the game show stumped contestants with a question about Swift’s song, “You Need to Calm Down.” When the late Alex Trebek hosted the show, Swift was the subject of an entire category of questions for an episode featuring college students in 2014.
A decade later, Swift’s star power has grown exponentially. She was named Time magazine’s Person of the Year in 2023. Additionally, Forbes ranked Swift fifth on its list of the world’s most powerful women of 2023. The only women ranked above her on the list are political figures. The “All Too Well” singer-songwriter’s influence became undeniable when demand for tickets to The Eras Tour was so high that Ticketmaster’s website crashed in an hour and Swift broke the record for the most ticket sales in a single day.
Swift even gets more NFL screen time than some players when she supports her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in games with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce and the Chiefs will take on the Ravens in Baltimore for the AFC Championship this Sunday, and fans are eagerly anticipating Swift’s attendance.
Following the year she’s had, it’s probably more likely for the sentence, “Who is Taylor Swift?” to be uttered as an answer on Jeopardy! than a genuine question anyone on the planet asks, which is an astonishing feat for any musical artist.
