Aaron Nola joined The Morning Show on Wednesday, and he made it clear that finding a place that felt like home was more important that the dollar amount when it came to his next contract, and he had already felt at home in Philadelphia.
Amid reports that he took less money to stay with the Phillies, Aaron told Joe and Jon that comfort was paramount, and there was no better place than the one he has called home for his entire big league career.
“I just didn’t feel like we - I didn’t really want to prolong the process,” Nola said. “I wanted to get something done early…it’s not really about the highest dollar for me and our family. It’s more important being somewhere we’re comfortable, and somewhere we’re gonna enjoy for the next seven years.
“Philadelphia is a place I enjoy.”
