Bettor shows a lot of confidence in Eagles with insane $500K bet

Eagles fans are known for how passionate and intense they are as a fan base, often erring into territory of borderline unacceptable behavior at games. What can we say… we’re a crazy bunch.

But throwing snowballs at Santa, or throwing cheesesteaks at ejected players, or any of the general delinquency that occurs on game day — all that stuff is relatively tame when put next to one bettor’s wager on the Birds in Week 5 against the Panthers.

You think being an Eagles fan is stressful as is? Try watching them with half a million dollars on the line. Five hundred thousand big ones. $500K.

Granted, they don’t have to win, but they have to keep it within a field goal. It may have been a better idea (no pun intended) to place this insane bet after we find out what Christian McCaffrey’s status is, seeing as the Eagles have been gashed on the ground the past two weeks. But with that much money on the line, it seems like this guy/girl would’ve had enough chutzpah to bet on Philly regardless of the star running back’s status.

And hey, much crazier things have happened. Just last week, a bettor correctly guessed the outcomes of the first nine games of a 10-game parlay, and was able to cash out for over $45,000… but he instead chose to let it ride and trust the Chargers on Monday night. It was a good decision, one that made him $126K all in all.

$126,000 is a ludicrous amount of money… and it’s only a quarter of what this week’s protagonist is wagering on the Eagles. The good news? Yours truly, a self-labeled expert (not really, though), chose the Eagles to win straight up in our Audacy Sports weekly NFL picks.
