The most beloved athlete in Philadelphia sports history for many folks, Brian Dawkins, talked about his admiration in current Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts.

"I loved the fact that the dude has been through so much early in his life and he's always finds a way to overcome without coming out of character," Dawkins told Jon Marks and his former teammate Ike Reese on Friday afternoon. "He's always under control and he finds a way to get better when he's challenged.

"With the versatility of a dude that has a strong mental mind, in Philadelphia, first of all that's a plus...He's gotten better throwing the football, timing, accuracy, deep ball. All of those things that were huge question marks from last year he's improved. And once again, I believe this because of that ability to say, 'I see all of the things that are being said negative about me. I'm not going to respond negatively, I am going to respond positively by getting better.' And that's what you see with this young man and I love it."

Dawkins predicts an Eagles win over the Cowboys on Sunday night, which would make them 6-0 heading into their bye week.

"I am very, very surprised they were able to gel that quickly," Dawkins said of the 5-0 Eagles. "I knew they had talent and we all said that at the beginning of the season...They seemed to have gel right away and putting some of the best product on the field right away."
