Certified physician discusses Zack Wheeler's blood clot

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler had a blood clot removed and the 94WIP Morning Show spoke with Dr. Thomas Sabalaske on Tuesday morning about the injury.

"Definitely at some point," Dr. Sabalaske said about Wheeler returning to the game of baseball. "It's more than reasonable that he comes back from this injury."

"In a non athlete, we would consider at least six weeks to three months for the actual clot to be dissolved from the body."

Dr. Thomas Sabalaske, DO is a family medicine physician with Feasterville Family Practice in Holland, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sabalaske is dually board certified in family medicine and neuromuskuloskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulation.

Dr. Sabalaske has been treating patients for over 23 years, serving the Philadelphia and Bucks County region.
