Hugh: This Eagles roster is better than last season's group
The Eagles are still months away from taking the field together for the first time, but coming off of last year's playoff disappointment, Hugh says this team has a better roster than its predecessor, which bottomed out down the stretch in 2023.
"You're gonna field a smarter roster," Hugh said. "When you're trying to change a culture or philosophy, you have to start with young guys who are in an impressionable state. They're hungry…they're trying to make a name for themselves.
"When you look at the talent they've amassed, especially in that secondary, where they had a ton of issues last year, they're gonna be better."
Joe noted the important veterans that are no longer with the team, from the recently retired Jason Kelce to Haason Reddick, who was traded to the Jets last month. But Hugh says the Eagles have gotten younger, which will help the new coaching staff around Nick Sirianni maximize their potential, and the team will be better for it.
"Now you have a group where you're going to be able to be impressionable with them, tell you what you expect from them, and they're gonna rise to the occasion," Hugh said.
