Ike Reese was fired up about the Eagles after their comeback win over the Ravens on Sunday night, so much so that he opened Monday’s show by declaring the Birds to be the best team in the league.
“Yesterday was confirmation that the best team in the NFL resides here in Philadelphia,” Ike said.
The Lions still own the best record in the NFC at 11-1, but the red-hot Eagles have won eight in a row, and Ike says that not only are they currently the best team in football, but they have the ability to be even better by the playoffs.
“This is not a perfect team, and that’s a positive,” Ike said. “That means there’s room to get better as a team, even this late in the season.
“Wait until this passing game starts to pick up.”
Sure, there are still concerns, like the team’s quality of starts to games after falling behind 9-0 in the first quarter on Sunday, but areas that were initially thought to be weaknesses have turned into immense strengths, and it has completely changed the outlook of the season.
“The idea that the defense is a luxury? What? Are you kidding me?” Ike said after the Eagles defense shut down Lamar Jackson and the high-powered Ravens offense. “Where would we be without this defense? They just went into Baltimore and bullied the bully.”
