Jean Segura had the baseball world cracking up with a joke at the expense of Jacob deGrom and the Mets.

The Phillies infielder posted on Instagram about the New York ace’s dominance, while also throwing shade at the Mets’ frequent inability to give deGrom any run support.

“DeGrom is so strong that when he pitches not even his team hits,” Segura wrote, translated by MLB insider Hector Gomez.

DeGrom entered the 2021 season with the third-lowest run support average per nine innings over the previous four seasons, with New York scoring 4.1 runs per nine when deGrom starts. The 2021 campaign was not much better before injuries ended his season at the All-Star break. So far this season, the Mets are averaging 2.3 runs per game in the six games that deGrom has started.

DeGrom still boasts a 1.98 ERA on the season, and his divisional rival decided to have some fun with his lack of run support despite his historic dominance.
