The Jets have reportedly taken another look down I-95 for their offensive coordinator vacancy, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that Gang Green interviewed former Colts offensive coordinator and Eagles offensive consultant Marcus Brady on Sunday.
Brady was with the Colts from 2018 until mid-season, as he was fired on Nov. 1 after a Week 8 loss dropped Indianapolis to 3-4-1. He joined Frank Reich's staff in Indy as an assistant QB coach in 2018, was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2019, and then became offensive coordinator in 2021 when then-OC Nick Sirianni was named Eagles head coach.
He then spent the second half of this season as an offensive consultant with the Eagles and Sirianni.
Brady, 43 never played in the NFL, but spent seven years (2002-08) as a QB in the CFL after going undrafted out of Cal State Northridge, where he is the school’s all-time leader in completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. He began his coaching career in the CFL in 2009, and spent five years as the offensive coordinator with the Toronto Argonauts before joining the Colts.
He is now technically the second Eagles’ staffer the Jets have interviewed, as they also met with passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo earlier in the week. Gang Green has also requested permission to interview Patriots tight ends coach Nick Caley as well.
The Eagles' staff is getting quite a bit of attention this winter, as in addition to Petullo and now Brady, both coordinators - OC Shane Steichen and DC Jonathan Gannon - have reportedly been requested to interview for multiple head coaching vacancies, and the Browns have requested an interview with defensive assistant Dennard Wilson for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
