After working his way back from a potential life-threatening condition as a result of complications from having his spleen removed, Vinny Curry is now reportedly ready to make his return to the football field.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the veteran defensive end is set to be activated off IR by the Jets and make his season and team debut on Sunday against the Packers at Lambeau Field. Curry hasn’t played since he was with the Eagles in 2021.
A rare blood disorder caused Curry to need his spleen removed months after signing with the Jets last year, and a blood clot that formed after the procedure kept him off the field all of last season. He was ready to return from that this season, but has now been nursing a hamstring injury.
But now, the 34-year-old is ready to introduce himself to Jets fans, and reintroduce himself to the NFL.
