Seltzer: 'The most important win of Joel Embiid's career'

Joel Embiid had a massive performance on Thursday, being a major part in lifting Team USA past Serbia in the Olympic semifinal game.

"I think maybe, honestly, the most important game of his career, arguably," James Seltzer said on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show. "The most important win of his career, certainly. Biggest win of his career, who would have thunk it?"

Embiid finished the game with 19 points on 8-11 shooting and four rebounds, including seven straight points down the stretch fueling USA's comeback. Embiid was dominant while on the floor against Nikola Jokic—not to mention a huge dunk after pump faking and blowing by Jokic earlier in the game.

"I think that was an important day yesterday for Joel Embiid," Seltzer said. "The fact that he can show that he can do that with the best of the best of the world. This is the reason he went. He went for this kind of thing."

LeBron James, who recorded the fourth triple-double in Olympic basketball history in the win, shouted out Embiid postgame.

"Kudos to Serbia, but we came through," said James. "Chef Curry with a vintage Chef Curry game. Joel was big for us and we needed it."
