Baseball fans witnessed one of the rarest feats in the long history of the national pastime on Wednesday night -- a no-hitter in the World Series.

Astros starter Cristian Javier and three relievers -- Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero and Ryan Pressly -- held the potent Phillies lineup hitless in Game 4 at Citizens Bank Park, tying the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.

It marked only the second no-hitter in World Series history, after Yankees starter Don Larsen's perfect game against the then-Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956.

For the Astros, it was their second no-hitter of the season, and the second involving breakout star Javier. The 25-year-old right-hander and two relievers held the Yankees hitless on June 25 at Yankee Stadium.

On Wednesday, Javier threw 96 pitches in six sharp innings -- issuing just two walks while striking out nine batter -- before yielding to Abreu. The trio of relievers did the rest, with Pressly inducing a game-ending groundout by Phillies catcher JT Realmuto to seal it.

The no-no was a stunning turn of events after the Phillies tied a World Series record of their own by crushing five home runs against the Astros in Game 3 on Tuesday night.

But this night belonged to the Astros, and many baseball journalists and fans couldn't believe what they just witnessed. Here's what some were saying:
