In his latest mailbag for Sports Illustrated, NFL Insider Albert Breer was asked what he thinks will happen to Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson.
His answer will certainly catch the attention of Eagles fans.
"If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll eventually get moved. And I’d have said the destination was going to be the Saints a month ago. Now that Sean Paytons gone, let’s put him in the NFC East … to the Eagles. In a way, it’d be a sort of redemptive move for Howie Roseman, who was part of a front office that planned to take Wilson in the third round in 2012, only to have Seattle scoop him up earlier in the round.”

The Eagles, of course, have three-first round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, putting them right in the middle of any trade discussion involving quarterbacks this offseason. Although they have said Jalen Hurts is their quarterback for next season, there is no question they will be doing their homework on any of the high-level veteran quarterbacks that might become available.
Wilson very well could be at the top of their list.
Despite being a bit on the older side (33-years old) and missing time with a finger injury last season, Wilson had the fifth-best passer rating in the NFL and has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the league throughout his career. Acquiring Wilson would arguably make the Eagles one of the best teams in the NFC right away, especially if they get the same level of offensive line play they did last year.
While it is fair to question whether they should make the trade, one thing is not up for debate — the Eagles being tied to any-and-all quarterback rumors isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
