With Justin Fields dealing with a new ankle injury and Andy Dalton unable to go with a groin injury, it's time for the Bears to hand over the keys to the starting quarterback role to their third option.
On Friday, head coach Matt Nagy announced that Nick Foles will get the start against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16, while Fields could potentially serve as the backup quarterback so long as he's able to play on his ankle. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but the injury held him out of Thursday's practice entirely. Though Fields said he expected to start earlier in the week, the injury appears to be significant enough to the point where Chicago is opting to keep him on the sidelines.

Foles last started a game in Week 10 of last season, coming up very short (15-26, 106 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT) in a loss to the Vikings. He went 3-5 in his eight substantial appearances last year, checking in midway through the team's Week 3 contest with the Falcons to lead a nice comeback.
He finished the year with 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight picks. Now, in his tenth season, he'll look to provide a boost to the Bears' anemic offense which currently ranks last in passing yards and fourth-to-last in passing touchdowns and total points scored.
