Zack Wheeler is putting together a historic postseason resume, as he lifted the Phillies to their most important win in Game 5 of the NLCS on Saturday improving his career postseason ERA to 2.48 in 10 starts.
Joe DeCamara believes Zack Wheeler is the "most indispensable" Phillies player on the roster.
"He's basically as dependable as any athlete I've ever seen in Philadelphia sports.
"He lifted the whole city on his shoulder, he really did," DeCamara said of Wheeler's performance on Saturday in Game 5. "And I say this in all due respect to Bryce Harper—who deserves a ton of respect. This is why I picked Zack Wheeler as the most indispensable Phillies player on the team for the postseason...I think they could win the World Series without Bryce. I don't think they could win the World Series without Zack Wheeler...To me he is in the indispensable guy on the whole team, come postseason time."
The entire 94WIP Morning Show crew agreed they rank Wheeler over Joel Embiid in Philadelphia sports because he is more reliable.
"It's saying something, because Joel Embiid just won the MVP and he's one of the great players in the NBA, but you got to be trustworthy come playoff time. I have to be able to count on you," DeCamara said.
