American Airlines adding reduced, last-minute fares as Hurricane Ida approaches

American Airlines says it's adding reduced, last-minutes fares for cities expected to be impacted by Hurricane Ida from today through Monday.

The airline has also issued a travel alert for 12 airports in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi - so customers whose travel plans are impacted can rebook without change fees.

Customers can reschedule their travel on aa.com or by contacting reservations.

If an American flight has been canceled or excessively delayed, customers can cancel their itinerary and request a refund.
