A Dallas, Texas hospital security guard is getting a big pat on the back from his bosses for helping deliver a baby. In the elevator.

On Mother's Day, a woman arrived at Medical City Dallas to deliver her baby. Security video shows Betzabeth Perez arrive in a car. Security guard Eli Davila quickly wheels her into the elevator while she looks to be clearly in distress.

The elevator door closes and the camera on another floor shows the door opening and Davila wheeling Perez out holding her newborn daughter Mia in her arms.

The baby arrived during the short elevator ride from ground level to the second floor assisted by Davila who calmly handed baby Mia to mom and wheeled them both out of the elevator.

Hospital CEO Jay deVenney says "Eli's quick assessment and willingness to help a patient in need takes 'other duties as assigned' to a new level and speaks to our colleague's commitment to delivering excellent care."
