Louis Vuitton Debuts High Fashion Face Shield Retailing for Nearly $1,000

Face masks, but make it fashion!

Like it or not, face masks and shields have become the latest accessory in an outfit amid the pandemic.

While some people don't put too much thought into whether or not their mask is fashionable, others are continuously on the hunt for cute styles that make their ensemble “pop.”

And designers are working over time to cash-in on the high ashion PPE trend.

Louis Vuitton has created the first luxurious face shield.

According to Vanity Fair, the shield is made of “an elastic monogrammed strap that goes around the wearer’s head” along with a moveable shield that’s held together by gold studs engraved in the brand logo.

The shield serves multiple purposes as it can be flipped upwards and turned into a visor.

It also features transition lens technology which dims when it comes in contact with sun.

The official press release calls the shield “an eye-catching headpiece, both stylish and protective.”

With so many high-tech features, you know it’s clocking in at a hefty price tag.

The couture PPE will cost you $961. It will be available in stores on October 30 as part of the French fashion house’s 2021 Cruise Collection.

However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not recommend face shields as a substitute for masks as it is “primarily used as eye protection for the person wearing it.”

So, if you want to wear LV’s face shield, you still need to get a matching face mask first.
