A principal in Georgia is reaching out to the world for prayers as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Dr. Kyle Abernathy, a principal at Cave Spring Elementary in Georgia, posted on Facebook that he and his wife have the coronavirus, reported Coosa Valley News.

The post on Facebook consisted of an update on his and his wife's April's condition while she remains on life support. A picture was shared to Facebook by a friend of the family. The family friend also shared Kyle's message.

The post read, "I have tried to be quiet on social media and have enjoyed reading all of our friend's and families' posts for prayer. I am so encouraged and uplifted to know we have such a strong support team behind us."

He began to explain that he and his wife remain hospitalized. "She is critical but stable, requiring a ventilator and sedation. Her body needs strength. Please pray for this specifically," Kyle said.

The Georgia principal said he is on oxygen 24/7 and has a hard time breathing without it as he gets very winded moving around.

Coose Valley News reported that according to family, since being transported to Emory, April's lung function has seen much improvement.

Kyle and his wife April both attend the same church, The Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville, that several others who gave tested positive for COVID-19.

In the post, he also wrote, "Her body needs strength. Please pray for this specifically. She is my bride and I miss her. I want to be able to see her when she's better."

The principal said that this is an opportunity for all of us "to pray, to lift each other up, and stay vigilant."
