AURORA, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Advocate Aurora Health is using YouTube to plead with people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

We’ve been hearing this for well over a year, medical professionals talking about burn out. They’re still burned out, perhaps more so, dealing with loss of staff. And tired of watching people die.

Advocate Aurora medical professionals appear in videos posted to YouTube that the health system is calling “Voices From the Front Lines.”

Here are some of the messages they shared.

"When you can't breathe, nothing else matters," said ICU nurse, Alvin.

"If people saw what we are seeing on a daily basis, they would run to get the vaccine," said Nisreen, an ER nurse. "We feel like we are drowning. People just continue to come in unvaccinated."

"There's a disconnect from what the public views and what we see...This is a horrible illness that I just wish people would get vaccinated, and just listen to the medical professionals and science," said Christine, an ICU nurse.

"It is exhausting to speak to somebody the same age as myself who is going to die. And this is all so preventable," said Oyinkansola, an ER doctor. "We are losing our patience, and we are worried, and we are scared,"

"It's hard to come to work and watch somebody who is your age die of a disease that you know is really preventable," said David, an ICU doctor.
