Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich to Make Its Triumphant Return

Our long, national nightmare is over.

Popeyes has announced their sold-out fried chicken sandwich will make its triumphant return next week, according to People.

Starting Sunday, November 3rd, the beloved menu item will once again be available in all restaurants nationwide.

The choice of bringing it back on Sunday was a deliberate attempt to shade Chick-fil-A, which is known for being closed on Sundays.

In a promotional video announcing the sandwich’s return, a man is seen unveiling a Popeyes sign which reads “Open Sunday” next to a Chick-fil-A one with “Closed Sunday.”

It was just this past August that Popeyes launched their spicy poultry delicacy and started a feud with Chick-fil-A to see who had the best chicken sandwich. The hashtag #ChickenWars went viral and drove fans to both chains.

Popeyes couldn’t keep up with the demand for their sandwich and within two weeks, disclosed that the menu item was sold-out nationwide.

News of the shortage caused panic to the sandwich’s rabid fanbase as one man tried to sue the chain for false advertising and another actually pulled a gun on employees after he was notified they didn’t have anymore on hand.

Popeyes tried to appease customers by starting a “BYOB” campaign that urged people to bring their own bun and order chicken tenders as a temporary substitute.

While Popeyes had promised their $3.99 chicken sandwich would return, a date had not been revealed, until now.

So mark your calendars because after a long two-month shortage, Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is back on Sunday. Good luck waiting in line!
