Rockettes Christmas Spectacular to return after cancellation due to COVID

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. announced on Thursday that “The Christmas Spectacular” holiday show starring the Rockettes will be back in 2021 after its cancelation due to the COVID-19 last year.

The show was cancelled due to the pandemic for the first time in over 85 years. The annual holiday show will be back this holiday season with performances at Radio City Music Hall from Nov. 5, 2021 to Jan. 2, 2022.

“The Christmas Spectacular” has been seen by more than 69 million people since it debuted in 1933. The world-famous show features a precision synchronized dance group known for their kick lines and festive attire.

The dance group used their various social media platforms to promote their highly-anticipated return, writing on Instagram, "Can’t wait to see you there." The group also shared a video of the women training and practicing their dance moves in preparation for the upcoming season.

Last year's absence due to the pandemic marked the first time in 87 years the production was canceled. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the world famous dance group announced the show's cancelation in August 2020.

"We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition," MSG Entertainment, which owns Radio City Music Hall, said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming audiences back for the 2021 production, which is on sale now."
