Shake Shack on Tuesday unveiled a new truffle-themed menu that will only be available for a limited time.
The new menu will include a black truffle burger and parmesan garlic fries with black truffle sauce, according to a press release.
Customers can get early access to the menu items through the Shake Shack app before it hits menus nationwide on Oct. 15.
“Both items are made with Regalis Foods’ USDA Organic Black Truffle Arbequina Oil. The oil, flavored organically with real truffles, is one of the only truly natural truffle products on the market,” the New York City-based chain said.
The burger is topped with gruyere cheese, black truffle sauce and crispy shallots on a toasted potato bun. The fries will be the same crinkle-cut potatoes that customers have come to love, topped with garlic parmesan cheese and served with a black truffle dipping sauce.
While truffles are known in the food industry for having a hefty price, Shake Shack is keeping the price fairly low, to make it as accessible as possible. The burger will start at $8.79, while the fries are $4.79.
“Inspired by traditional black truffle pairings, the new black truffle burger elevates a Shake Shack classic and offers guests a fun and accessible way to enjoy the delicious and highly regarded truffle flavor,” the eatery said in a statement.
Mark Rosati, culinary director for Shake Shack, said in a statement that the new items were inspired by the eatery’s “fine dining roots.”
“We love crafting fun, delicious menu items in an elevated way. Our new Black Truffle Burger blends our roadside burger DNA with our fine dining heritage and is meant to be enjoyed by all, whenever and however our guests want it,” he said.
The new menu items will be available to customers through Jan. 10, 2022.
