Some may find fishing to be boring, but when it’s a shark at the other end of a fishing pole, the experience is never dull.
For one Texas woman, she decided to make her fishing trip even more exciting, catching a shark from the back of a pickup truck. Not only did the angler successfully reel in a hammerhead shark, but it was also her personal best at 11.5 ft. long.

Texas angler Jen Merchant has had some exciting fishing trips over the years, but nothing quite like her recent excursion at North Padre Island, Texas.
As seen in a clip that has since gone, Merchant stands on the top of a pickup truck parked on the beach, with a fishing pole set up, reeling in something massive. The video later reveals what Merchant was working to reel in; an 11.5 ft. long hammerhead shark.
“So stoked! I finally got my personal best shark today! A 11 1/2 ft. greater hammerhead!” Merchant captioned photos of her with her record catch.
According to Bro Bible, it took Merchant 45 minutes to reel in the shark, and she claimed she was definitely sore after the experience.
Sadly for her, catching a catfish in a lake won’t be as exciting now.
