February is best known for Valentine’s Day, but there’s a holiday that’s equally as important and celebrates the incredible women in our lives: Galentine’s Day.

To quote the great Leslie Knope from “Parks and Recreation,” the holiday, which is the counterpart to Valentine’s Day and sometimes known as anti-Valentine’s Day, is “only the best day of the year.”

The fictional holiday was invented in 2010 by Amy Poehler’s iconic character who gave it this description: “Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It's like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas."

Single and taken ladies alike are encouraged to indulge in the holiday since it's essentially an excuse to grab a boozy-brunch, treat each other to a day at the spa, go shopping, and catch-up on life.

However you choose to celebrate, it’s a special day to celebrate the love you have for your girlfriends, who are your true soulmates, and show them how much they mean to you.

You may not have known that there are some “best places” to celebrate the holiday, but House Method did some research and ranked U.S. cities by “percent of the population that’s female, single, average cost of wine, and number of spas, brunch options, and wine and design places.”

Anaheim, CA rounded up the top 5.

Portland, OR, Reno, NV, Newark, NJ, Boise, ID, and New Orleans, LA also made the list.

That means if you live in these top Galentine’s Day cities, you have no excuse not to celebrate!
