Wedding Announcement Goes Viral After Groom’s Ex-Wife Reveals He Cheated on Her When He Met the Bride

Nikyta Moreno found out her ex-husband had previously cheated on her upon seeing his new wedding announcement.

Last month, Moreno read the wedding section of New York Times and realized that her former partner had not been loyal during their marriage.

“According to the (New York Times) article, the couple, Rob and Lauren, started their relationship in January 2017. It also said that he had never been married. That was news to me — because I was his wife in January 2017,” Moreno wrote about her experience in an article for the New York Post.

Moreno said that they split in March of 2017 and officially divorced in January 2018.

“I never exactly understood why. Until I read about it in the Times,” Moreno wrote of their breakup.

The wedding announcement explained how Moreno’s ex, Robert Palmer, first met his new bride Lauren Malillian. According to the announcement, Palmer spotted Maillian lifting weights at his gym in January 2017 and knew it was meant to be.

At the time, he was still married to Moreno.

In the final quote of the story, Palmer called his new wife “the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. This is the most meaningful, deep connection I’ve ever had.”

Moreno explained how she and Palmer had initially married in a civil ceremony in 2015 and were planning a big wedding in August of 2017. Months before the wedding, Moreno abruptly called it off.

"Now, thanks to his wedding announcement, I understand what changed in that small window. He had met another woman," Moreno wrote.

“He was my best friend, and my whole life was destroyed,” she shared. They haven't spoken since the divorce.

Moreno said she spent a long time in therapy to heal, but despite the news of his infidelity, she still wishes her ex the best.

"If Rob and his new wife are meant to be together, I want them to be happy," she continued. "I simply wish he had told me the truth."

Moreno also disclosed she's found love again with "a wonderful person who ticks all the boxes."

After the story of the infidelity went viral, Moreno's ex-husband released a statement.

Nikyta and I were separated and both consented to a mutual and amicable divorce," he told the NY Post. "This is all very surprising to me and I was unaware that there was ever an issue. I’m happy with my family and I wish Nikyta the best.”
