WATCH: Woman strikes flight attendant while wearing face mask incorrectly

Chaos erupted on a Delta Airlines flight after a passenger who was wearing her face mask incorrectly was kicked off the airplane after allegedly striking a flight attendant in the face.

The New York Post reported the tumultuous incident and obtained a video from BBC journalist Suzanne Kianpour. The reporter said that the unidentified passenger got into an argument on the flight from Miami, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia.

In the video Kianpour posted, the traveler can be seen relatively close to the flight attendant before charging forward.

“She’s in her face. Oh lord, oh lord,” a woman says before the passenger allegedly hits the Delta employee.

One of the aircraft passengers then says, “You can’t be hitting a flight attendant!”

Another passenger, Lauryn England, captured another video, where you see the passenger wearing her face mask incorrectly.

“You shouldn’t have touched me. You pushed me,” the woman exclaimed.
BBC reporter Katty Kay, who was also on the flight, reported that police officers came onto the plane and escorted the woman off.

“Delta handling this very responsibly,” the reporter wrote on Twitter. “Why get on the plane in the first place if you’re going to refuse to follow the safety rules?”

Miami-Dade Police said no arrests have been made within this incident.

In a statement, Delta shared that the passengers were allegedly kicked off the plane for not following safety regulations.

“There is nothing more important than the safety of our people and customers,” the company said. “That’s why two customers who did not comply with crew safety instructions were asked to deplane Flight 1997 this evening [sic].”

“We do not tolerate violence of any kind and this situation is currently under investigation. We apologize to customers for the flight delay this caused.”
