NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- What's more of an unholy union: pink-colored macaroni and cheese or candy-flavored macaroni and cheese?
Not surprisingly, Kraft's announcement on Wednesday that it is releasing limited-edition Candy Kraft Mac & Cheese as a Valentine's Day promotion has been polarizing.
Traditionalists, don't fret, though: It's the same mac and cheese you're used to. But the package comes with a flavor pack that adds candy flavoring and the pink coloring.
"Candy Kraft Mac & Cheese is made with the same cheesy Kraft Mac & Cheese Americans know and love, but includes a candy flavor packet to turn the mac & cheese pink and add hints of sweet candy flavor," Kraft said in a statement.
"No more noodling on what gift to buy," Kraft added. "There is no better way to show your love this Valentine's Day than saying 'you're the mac to my cheese.'"
The only way to obtain a box, though, is to enter a drawing at CandyKraftMacandCheese.com. One thousand people will be randomly selected between now and Feb. 8. -- and if you are selected, don't worry, your sweetheart won't be disappointed: packages will arrive by Feb. 14.
Martina Davis, brand manager at Kraft Heinz, told Food & Wine, "After our success with Pumpkin Spice Kraft Mac & Cheese in the fall, we had our eye on what to do next. We're always up for a challenge, so for Valentine's Day we thought it would be fun to partner with our Canadian counterparts to change the color AND taste of classic Mac & Cheese by turning it pink and adding a bit of sweet candy flavor to celebrate the holiday."
