Dinwiddie, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The first trial dates in the death of Irvo Otieno have been set. Otieno, a Henrico resident, died in March at Central State Hospital after being transported there from the Henrico jail. He was originally taken into custody on an emergency detention order, and then taken to the jail from Henrico Doctor's Hospital after allegedly assaulting law enforcement there.

Deputy Dwayne Bramble has a trial set for June of 2024. His trial, so far, is the earliest scheduled. Deputies Bradley Disse and Jermaine Branch both have trials scheduled in August, although on different days. Deputy Randy Boyer has a September 2024 trial.

Eight people in all face second degree murder charges in Otieno's death. Otieno's family recently just settled for $8.5 million with Henrico County, the Sheriff's Department and the Commonwealth. There was no admittance of wrongdoing.
