Being a college student is tough ... especially when it comes to affording food.
Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea were at Rutgers to unveil the new JBJ Soul Kitchen at the college’s Paul Robeson Campus Center. Instead of having prices on the menu, students can pay whatever they can afford. A $12 donation is suggested and it will get you a 3-course meal. If you are able to afford the meal and have some extra cash to spare, you can also pay more than the 12 dollars as a way to pay it forward. Students can also work at the Soul Kitchen to help pay for their meals as well.
Bon Jovi's wife is the driving force behind the idea. She said that students have enough to worry about and their next meal shouldn't be on that list. A third of students attending college struggle with hunger so the Soul Kitchen will truly make a huge difference in so many lives!
