NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Just a day after returning to Broadway, the production of “Aladdin” stepped aside once again Wednesday due to COVID-19 cases.

The musical’s Twitter account announced the cancellation of Wednesday night’s show at The New Amsterdam Theatre due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases.

The status of upcoming performances was still in limbo, and would be announced Thursday.

All tickets for the performance would be refunded, according to the Disney Theatrical Performances.

The cancellation takes back plenty of excitement around the show’s Tuesday return, which featured a rousing curtain call.

The cancellation is the first missed Broadway performance due to COVID since its reopening in June, according to the New York Times.

The show first opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014, and was nominated for five Tony Awards.
