Leon Suseran told 1010 WINS he was attacked at random at around 9 a.m. by a rooster that got loose from his neighbor's yard.

Suseran said he suffered a bite on his left hand, "gushing blood," but managed to flee and call 911 for help.

Officers responded and managed to round the resident's other rooters back up, though the owner was not home at the time.

However, Suseran said his attack was not the first in the neighborhood — warning that while his attack was "bizarre," these roosters are very dangerous.

“They’re having these roosters roaming the block. They're really a threat," he said.

EMS treated Suseran and later went to a CityMD urgent care for another check up on his wound.

He said he contacted the city's Department of Health, who said they are investigating.
