NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — New York state police issued 925 tickets and arrested 21 drivers for DWI in New York City and on Long Island over Fourth of July weekend, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday.
The crackdown on driving while intoxicated and reckless driving started on Friday, July 2 and lasted through Monday, July 5, Cuomo said in a press release.
A breakdown of tickets issued and arrests made by region is below:

“Putting others in danger by driving impaired is unacceptable in the state of New York, and those who do it will be held accountable,” Cuomo said in a statement.
“Thank you to the women and men of law enforcement around the state who patrol our streets to keep us safe,” he added. “Lives were saved this holiday weekend because of your hard work and dedication to the people you serve.”
