“Old Town Road” singer Lil Nas X is receiving praise from Country music Queen Dolly Parton after releasing his cover of her 1973 classic, “Jolene.”
Parton took to Instagram to share a photo of her and Nas as well as her delight with the cover, admitting she listened to it “immediately” upon its release.
“I was so excited when someone told me that Lil Nas X had done my song ‘Jolene,’ I had to find it and listen to it immediately,” Dolly captioned a photo of her and Lil Nas X both sporting their best fringe and bling. “It's really, really good. Of course, I love him anyway. I was surprised and I'm honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us.”
The cover showcases a sultry, mature side of Nas that is a different flavor for Country fans who are familiar with his rowdy smash, “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.
Nas recently released a new Pop/Rap album, Montero, celebrating his pride as a gay man, however, he tweeted earlier this month he has plans to return to his Country roots with his next project.
