Iin an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morris stated she’d “take a step back” from the genre after being fed up with the politics and feeling “distant.”
“I thought I’d like to burn it to the ground and start over,” Morris shared of Country music in the interview. “But it’s burning itself down without my help.”
According to Morris, future music will be released via Columbia Records, instead of her former label, Columbia Nashville. Both are branches of Sony Music.
