The 2021 Subway Series will have to wait until at least Saturday to kick off.

After a delay of nearly 90 minutes, Friday night's scheduled game between the Yankees and Mets at Yankee Stadium was officially postponed, with the game reportedly to be made up at 2 p.m. Sunday as part of a day-night doubleheader.

Despite the split admission - which means tickets for Friday's game will only be valid for Game 1 Sunday - both games will be seven innings. Coverage will begin on WFAN Sunday at 1:30 p.m., with Sweeny Murti (who was scheduled from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday) with you between games.

As of the postponement, a flood warning was in effect for the Bronx until 9:30 p.m., and radar renderings had Yankee Stadium in a bullseye of heavy rain until at least that time.

The Mets and Yankees are scheduled to play at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday and were scheduled for the one game at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, but with inclement weather in the forecast all weekend, all three games may be in doubt.

Mets manager Luis Rojas has announced that Friday's scheduled starter, Taijuan Walker, will instead pitch Saturday, while Marcus Stroman (Game 1) and Tylor Megill (Game 2) will go Sunday.

Jordan Montgomery, Friday's scheduled starter for the Yankees, will also go Saturday per manager Aaron Boone, with Sunday's slate announced as Gerrit Cole and a TBD starter. As the Yankees were also rained out Thursday and have an off-day Monday, the team could use either Michael King or Jameson Taillon, both of whom would be on full rest, in Game 2, and not have to insert an extra starter to make up for the twin bill next week.
