Grimes made headlines in the Country music industry earlier this week after signing a record deal with Universal Music Group in partnership with Range Music. Grimes has wasted no time since the big signing and released his new single "No Horse To Ride," today. An acoustic version of the song is set to appear in the Yellowstone season 5 finale.
“I think of music as sort of a first love; it was my first creative outlet,” said Grimes. “To be at the start of this journey, putting my own music out into the world, is beyond a dream come true. I’m grateful to the people who helped make this happen and to anyone who connects with these songs, I will do my best to keep them honest.”
As mentioned, the song is just one part of a larger project for Grimes as he is currently hard at work on his debut album alongside with GRAMMY-winning producer, Dave Cobb.
This isn’t Grimes’ first go in the music world. He previously played drums for LA-based Alt-Country group Mitchells Folly, who released their debut album, Whirlwind, in 2008. Additionally, he has experience as a songwriter.
